Bending is a press brake process that uses pressure to force the material to plastically deform to form a shape with a certain angle and curvature. Commonly used bends include V-bends, Z-bends, and counter-pressure bends.
1. Bending height
The bending height of the sheet metal is at least twice the thickness of the sheet metal plus the bending radius during SS fabrication design, that is H銆?t+R. The bending height of the sheet metal is too low, and the sheet metal is easily deformed and twisted during bending, and it is not easy to obtain the ideal shape and size.
When the bend is a hypotenuse, the bending distortion is most likely to occur because the bending height is too small. As shown in the original design, because the leftmost bending height is too small, the distortion is likely to occur during bending. As a result, the bending quality is low. In the improved design, the height of the bending on the left side can be increased or the part with a small bending height can be removed, so that the sheet metal bending does not occur distortion and the bending quality is high.
2. Bending radius
The bending radius of the sheet metal is not as large as possible. The larger the radius, the greater the bending rebound and the less easy to control the bending angle and bending height. Therefore, a reasonable value should be taken for the bending radius of the sheet metal.
The manufacturer of sheet metal molds tends to have a bending radius of 0, so that it is not easy to rebound after bending the radius, and the size of the bending height and bending angle is relatively easy to control. However, a bend with a bending radius of zero is likely to cause external cracking or even breakage of the sheet metal bend. At the same time, the bending strength of the sheet metal is relatively low, especially for harder sheet metal materials, and the Right angles will gradually become smooth and the bending size will become difficult to control.
In order to reduce the bending force and ensure the bending size, another method adopted by the sheet metal mold manufacturer is to add a crimping process before the bending process. Of course, such a design will cause the bending strength of the sheet metal to be relatively low and Easy to break and other defects.
3. Bending direction
Sheet metal bending should be as perpendicular to the metal material fiber direction as possible. When the sheet metal bending is parallel to the metal material fiber direction, cracks are likely to occur at the sheet metal bending, so the strength is low and it is easy to break.
